Recent advances in software-defined networking (SDN), particularly OpenFlow [5], have made it possible to implement and deploy sophisticated network policies with relatively simple programs. The simplicity arises in large part due to a simple “match/action” interface that OpenFlow provides, by which a programmer can specify actions to take on packets that match particular characteristics (e.g., “forward all port-53 traffic on a faster path”).en_US
